  • Our Madeira trip was absolutely magical! The 3-day itinerary in September 2025 was perfectly curated—every recommendation we followed exceeded expectations. We asked Sandra to provide a jam-packed itinerary, and once we arrived, we pivoted into wanting more R&R than adventure—however, her itinerary was flexible enough to interchange the excursions and it was amazing. Sandra recommended the Savoy Palace because it was centrally located in Funchal. It had stunning ocean views, incredible dining, and an exceptional spa that had spectacular plunge pools and tea service following our treatments. A new favorite! The Monte Palace gondola ride and botanical gardens were breathtaking, and we fully enjoyed exploring the historic area and the vibrant Mercado dos Lavradores afterwards. Madeira has amazing opportunities for hiking, so make sure to pack the right boots and poles. We didn’t get a chance to make it out—however, this is definitely on our list for the next visit. Sandra’s thoughtful planning made this holiday truly special—she knew that 3 days was going to be too short…we almost stayed longer and considered canceling our next leg of the trip! But we will go back and stay longer—and definitely call The Madeira Experience for more recommendations.

  • my family had the privilege to enjoy an amazing week in the island of Madeira through the The Madeira Experience. The lush green forests lined with colorful flowers and abundant flowing waterfalls have left an indelible memory where I can return to that peaceful, fresh and healthy space every time I think of Madeira. Sandra crafted daily excursions, including a Madeira food tour where we enjoyed tropical fruits, the delicious Bolo do Caco bread with the traditional holiday vinho de alho meats, a Madeira wine tour and tasting and ended with a traditional Madeiran luncheon where we savored the traditional fish dishes and the famous beef espetada. Our day trips to exceptional vista points were thoughtfully timed perfectly to optimize the golden sunlight pouring through the valleys. The delight of the beautiful landscapes, with a bounty of cliffs, oceans, valleys amongst green lush forests, colorful flowers, abundant waterfalls, and sunsets in Ponta do Sol provided a sense of peace and wonder I have never had before. Thank you Sandra for the Madeira experience of a lifetime. I highly recommend and I look forward to my next Madeira Experience with Sandra.
